“We today discovered that Apple published eleven new profiles for various iPhone-operators. These files are compatible with iOS 5.1 and are set for release on March 9. This could indicate that iOS 5.1 will be released around that date, is will be available for the following devices; iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPod Touch3G/4G, iPad, and iPad 2. ”

Profiles on iPhones and iPads are meant to allow network connection once when the operating system has been updates. The profiles that were discovered were for the iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPod Touch 3G/4G, iPad, and iPad 2. The profiles that were released were for Japan, France, Greece, Finland, and Sweden.

How to Check iPhone 3G/3GS Production Year, Week, Model etc

If you want to check your iPhone’s production year, production week, model, size etc, you have come to the right place.

More people are looking to check their iPhone’s production year and week becasue basebands that cannot be unlocked using ultrans0w requires iPad baseband to be flashed and if your iPhone 3GS 16 or 32 GB was made after week 35 of 2011 or a new 8GB iPhone 3GS made after week 28 of 2011, you cannot flash 6.15.00 baseband as it will brick the modem firmware.

So if you are on a baseband that cannot be unlocked using ultrasn0w, [5.14.02, 5.15.04, 5.16.00, 5.16.01, 5.16.02] your only option is to flash 6.15.00 baseband so that it can be unlocked using ultrasn0w. But before you proceed, you need to check if your iPhone 3Gs 16/32 GB was made before 35th week of 2011 or 8 GB made before 28th week of 2011. To check that, go to this site and enter your iPhone’s serial number in the given box. To find serial number, go to Settings >> General >> About >> Serial Number

You will be given complete details about your iPhone including model, generation, model code, machine code, production year, production week, CPU speed etc. Here are the results of my iPhone 3GS.

So my iPhone 3GS was made before those cautionary weeks and I can flash iPad baseband without any problem.

Fix Steve@rim.jobs While Updating Apps on Jailbroken iPad 2 on iOS 5.0.1?

Since the release of Absinthe Untethered jailbreak for iPad 2 and iPhone 4S on iOS 5.0.1, I have successfully been using a fully untethered iPad 2 on 5.0.1 without any problem except the steve@rim.jobs Apple ID appears whenever I try to update any of my app.
This Apple ID only shows up when I try to update any of my app. I have tried everything. Logging out and then logging in again but that doesn’t work. It is really annoying and driving me nuts. I have searched around the web and just couldn’t find the fix. If anyone of you know how to fix it, please let me know in the comments section below. Thanks

iPhone 4 Baseband Downgrade From 3.10.01 to 1.59.00 to Unlock?

I had been looking to downgrade iPhone 4 Baseband 3.10.01 to 1.59.00 so that I could simply unlock it using ultrasn0w  because 1.59.00 is the only baseband/modem fimrware that can be unlocked using ultrasn0w. But I couldn’t find any and even I got scammed in buying downgrade for 3.10.01 iPhone 4.

Downgrade iPhone 4 3.10.01 to 1.59.00?

There is no way to downgrade iphone 4 baseband 3.10.01 to 1.59.00 and even there is no hacker who is currently working on the downgrade process. So stay away from the scammers who tell you that they can downgrade 3.10.01 to 1.59.00. If you are on higher baseband, you can only unlock your iPhone 4 using Gevey Sim.

No Service on iPhone Fix After Jailbreak and Unlock

Getting no sService on your iPhone after jailbrekaing and unlocking your device? Most people get no service even after unlocking their iPhone using Ultrasn0w or Gevey sim. This issue is common in iPhone 3GS having iPad baseband 6.15.00. Here are some tips you can try to fix no service issue.

1: Uninstall Ultrasn0w from Cydia. Reboot your iPhone and then install ultrasn0w again.
2. Take out the sim card, turn off your phone and then insert the sim card following by booting up your phone.
3. Try to reset your network settings by going to Settings >> General >> Reset >> Reset Network Settings.

If these tips still don’t work, try to perform a fresh restore on your iPhone (Preserve baseband first) and then jailbreak and unlock again. If you need help in jailbreaking or unlocking your iPhone, you can search my blog from the search bar located in the right sidebar. Thanks
