With smartphones, you can add a lot of customizations and that’s one the reasons they are so popular. The Android’s popularity can be seen as a great example as it lets it’s users do just about anything with the OS. The iOS sure does have its benefits but you can’t call it the most customizable OS there is. True, you have a lot of themes and a number of tweaks that change a lot about the iOS but there are no native apps that can change the visuals. Cydia developers are always trying to make the iPhone a lot better and there is this latest tweak out that is called “DisplayCandy” and it’s a tweak that allows you to make some visual changes to your iPhone. With DisplayCandy, you can add new animations for closing or launching apps and this gives your iPhone a very different look.
Once you install DisplayCandy, it will automatically change the stock animations. You can even change the animations to the one you desire. There are three types of animations the tweak deals with; launching of apps, closing an app, and switching apps.
There is a same menu for each of these animations. The user gets to choose the animation and then further customize it. There are a number of animations available, although it would have been a lot easier to go through all of them if there was a way to preview them first. After selecting an animation, you can change its movement direction and change the direction they vanish to. There’s also an option to change the duration of the animations and moving the slider to the left will make them quicker and vice versa. The animation does not work if you use the App switcher from the Springboard of your iPhone.
All DisplayCandy needs is a preview option, add a few more animations and that will make this tweak just perfect. The tweak costs $2 and it doesn’t make your iPhone slow and if you think you can make good use of this tweak you can go to Cydia’s BigBoss repository and download DisplayCandy to add some extra visuals to your iPhone.
