Now the question is – Who are these people, and how do they have knowledge regarding these plans? Are they the board members of Apple?

Bloomberg has also mentioned in its report that Steve Jobs was involved with the design process of iPhone 5 which is expected to have a larger four-inch screen. Although the company is not revealing the source from where it received this information, this is a pretty bold statement.

With this information in its report, Bloomberg reporters are suggesting that they received the information from a reliable ‘source’ who they believe was in a position to be aware of Job’s involvement in this plan.

Although the three biggies, Wall Street Journal, Reuters, and Bloomberg’s are saying the same thing regarding the next iPhone, I find this a little surprising. Why? This is because in 2010, Steve Jobs famously criticized the phones with larger screens and said that no one would want to buy such a phone.

However, the market has proved his notion wrong, and if we believe what Bloomberg has to say then it is evident that Steve Jobs had changed his mind regarding screen size, before he died in October 2011.

With lots of information and report making the rounds regarding Apple’s next phone to have a larger  four-inch screen, the shift now seems inevitable and not very far away. So, if you are a small screen lover then perhaps this is the right time to brace yourself.

Until now companies were competing to manufacture the slimmest and lightest phones. Will the focus shift to the phones with bigger screens?

As per the release notes of iOS 5.1 introduced back in March, it aimed at addressing the bugs which affect the battery life, but it didn’t help. People had expectations with iOS 5.1.1, but the release notes contained no mention of addressing the bugs that affect battery life.

If you check the official blog then it shows no further updates except that the company is trying to improve and fix the bugs. Even after upgrading to iOS 5.1.1, several users have reported that their devices had a problem with the battery life. Some reported that the problems occurred only after upgrading.

Although Apple acknowledged that it might not have been successful in fixing all the bugs which have adversely affected the battery life, but it will do so in the future with updates in iOS software.

Poor battery life is a common issue among users who have updated to iOS 5.1.1 through OTA updates. It is recommended that you perform a quick manual backup through iTunes and iCloud.

Tips to improve battery life after upgrading to iOS 5.1.1: 

• Click on ‘Settings’, select the ‘General’ option, now choose the ‘Reset’ tap, and then the ‘Reset All Settings’.
• If you have set a passcode then enter it here, and then select ‘Reset’ to confirm the changes.
• Now reboot the device and set it up by entering all the personal data as required.
• Provide full 100% charge to the battery.

In the recent races, Heikki Kovalainen has been spotted wearing a branded helmet featuring a modified version of the popular Angry Birds by Rovio. Well, the partnership seems to have shaped up well, and Rovio is getting for the launch of the Angry Birds Heikki next month on June 18. The new mini-site has already been launched with a racing theme, and it has buttons for sharing information on Facebook, Twitter, and Google+.

Angry birds seem to have become angrier. The new site for Angry Birds Heikki features a fiery red bird with furrowed eyebrows, which looks like racing spoilers with the image of the race track reflected in its eyes. The logo for Angry Birds Heikki features two race checkered flags.

Rovio broke his silence and hinted at what fans can expect from the game by saying that this web game will provide exciting and fun game levels with a racing theme, and that it will launched later this summer.

He however did not reveal whether Angry Birds Heikki would just be another upgraded or re-branded version of the existing Angry Birds, or will it be presented as a new game with some significant modifications in the formula, like the gravitation mechanics of Angry Birds Space.

With Angry Birds, Rovio has enjoyed the sweet taste of success, and no matter how much we fuss about it saying that the games are getting repetitive or boring, the truth is that  Angry Birds still manages to sail high and get a fair amount of downloads. The company celebrated 1 billion downloads earlier this month.

As we already know, a jailbroken iPhone implies that it has broken free from the restrictions imposed by Apple in regards to safety. It provides users with wide-ranging access to the internal system, having choices to install software that do not belong to the App Store.

Vince Tseng, the Vice President of Strategy at SquareTrade, said that the jailbroken iPhones will now be offered coverage by the company; however SquareTrade does not cover any issues that might result due to jailbreaking.

At the time when a jailbreak software mishap takes place, Vince Tseng said that SquareTrade will come forward to offer support options. However, it should be remembered that the jailbroken iPhone having hardware mishaps will not be considered eligible for the coverage, and this will make the SquareTrade warranty void.

SquareTrade coverage stands true only for situations when a techie having a jailbroken iPhone damages the device by dropping or breaking it. Only in such situations, the third party warranty firm comes forward to provide a replacement or repair the smartphone, based on the user’s preference.

Vince Tseng further said that the warranty is available for all the iOS devices, and this warranty covers four different claims, whereas the Apple’s AppleCare service program provides coverage for only two claims.

SquareTrade’s service plan offers a variety of options. Those who are bonded to their device might get it shipped overnight and replaced in only one day. Users might also opt to get an advanced exchange service, where the new device is shipped overnight and SquareTrade gets the old one.

Tseng said that SquareTrade also provides protection plans for the iPad users because these devices are considered as investments. An average consumer usually keeps an iPad for long, while the iPhones are upgraded almost yearly.

Although SquareTrade has been offering warranties since 2004, it started receiving global attention when it first offered coverage on iPhone accidental damages, even before the launch of the AppleCare program.

Apple TV 3G users asked Pod2G about the jailbreak and he answered that we can’t find a way to inject files that are needed to jailbreak the device. But it does not mean that Apple TV 3G will never get jailbroken. It will be, someday. Keep patience and your fingers crossed.

xBackup is available on Cydia for $1.50 and can be used to backup all your Cydia repos, tweaks, add-on, apps and anything you have installed from cydia.

Install xbackup from Cydia and open it up from your devices’ springboard. Simply hit Backup to create backup of your all your cydia tweaks.

After backup is successfully created, you must sync your device with iTunes once. Connect your device with computer and sync it with iTunes. Now you can upgrade or restore your device on your desired firmware without having a fear of losing your cydia extensions.

“Please note you will have to sync your device to your computer and after restoring/updating your firmware you will have to restore from backup so that the Cydia backups are placed back on the device.”

After you are done with that, install xBackup again from Cydia and choose Restore this time.

Actually, Apple has put a restriction in Siri’s location search so you need to be located in the US to enjoy location based searches. But thanks to developers as a Cydia tweak has been developed that can be used to bypass this restriction and you can enjoy siri to its full potential even if you are non-US resident.

Just go to Cydia and search for ‘International Location for Siri‘ and install it. It is available for $0.99 so you will have to buy it and trust me, it’s worth buying.

After installing this tweak, you will be able to search for hospitals, ATMs, restaurants, lodging etc using siri. Enjoy
