I have just installed Whited00r 5 on my iPhone 3G and it works like a charm without slowing down the device. It does not include the most prominent and great iOS 5′ notification centre but it does have Newsstand, iCloud, Reminder App and more. You can get the full list of features here
I never expected that I would actually get all the features of iOS 4 on my iPhone 3G like multitasking etc but really thanks to whited00r as now I can say that I’m running iOs 5 on iPhone 3G. Sounds great eh? Why don’t you give it a try if you are having one of those older ARM6 family Apple devices?
All whited00r firmwares are pre-jailbroken and doesn’t require you to use jailbreaking tools like Redsn0w, Pwnage tool or Sn0wbreeze. On the other hand, it also preserves your devices’ current baseband/modem firmware so you can easily unlock it.
Whired00r offers two type of firmwares for iPhone 2G and 3G i,e Normal and Unlocker. If your iPhone rely on carrier unlock, you should be downloading unlocker version while if your iPhone does not require carrier unlock and is on official Sim card, then you should be downloading Normal version. You can visit the download section of Whited00r to download the appropriate firmware for you device.
After you have successfully downloaded the firmware file for your device, simply run iTunes, hold down the SHIFT key (on Windows) ALT key(on Mac) and click Restore. A pop-up window will appear asking you to select the IPSW file. Select the whited00r firmware file you downloaded and leave the rest to iTunes to do it’s task.
